Breakfast and dinner are plentiful. The service staff is super friendly. The room is also very comfortable and has an independent foggy hot spring.

The onsen is really nice

The food is horrible. Looks amazing but tastes bland. We stayed for two nights, and the food is really pretty much the same, just with and without decorations. Especially breakfast, is literally the same with different dessert.

Everything about this place feels exceptional. The staff are genuinely warm and attentive, creating a welcoming atmosphere from the moment you arrive. The chef personally checks in during each meal and even comes out to say goodbye, which adds a thoughtful, personal touch. Dinner here isn’t just a meal — it’s a beautifully crafted experience. This is a place worth returning to.

Wow! What a wonderful experience! Hozentai offers the Ryokan experience in spades. We stayed two nights in April. The owner and staff all super friendly and helpful, including a good amount of English spoken as they welcome foreign visitors. Our room nicely sized and appointed with a lovely outlook. We loved our indoor and outdoor private onsen. The kaiseki meals were next level and beautifully presented. The location is great too. Set just outside of Kurokawa village it provides a spacious natural setting with easy access and parking.
